World of Beer Uganda Experience PROMOTIONAL COMPETITION RULES
1. This promotional competition (“Competition”) is run by The South African Breweries (Pty) Limited (“Promoter”) and is open to all persons of 18 years or older and permanently resident in South Africa with a valid South African Passport, except the employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, the Promoter’s advertising and promotion agencies, associated companies, and participating outlet owners and staff.
2. This Competition will be run at the World of Beer only.
3. The Promoter reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel this Competition in its entirety and/or in its value. Any amendments, alterations or any other wording relating to the Competition will be interpreted by the Promoter only. In the event of an amendment, alteration and/or cancellation the Promoter will not compensate any individual for any reason whatsoever.
4. Participation by all entrants (“Participants”) constitutes acceptance of these rules and Participant gives Promoter consent to market its products and campaigns to Participant, using the details provided by the Participant.
5. The Competition begins on 3rd August 2018 and ends on 27th August 2018 (“Competition Period”).
6. To enter, Participants must complete a tour at the World of Beer. Upon completion, the Participant will be given/must request an entry card. All required details must be completed in full, failing which the entry will not be valid and will be disqualified. The entry card must then be inserted into the entry box at reception before close of business of the World of Beer 18h00 on 27th August 2018, at which time the box will be sealed and removed/cleared. Any entries delivered or placed in the box after the box has been sealed/cleared will not be included in the draw and will be disqualified, with no compensation to any party.
7. Prize Details:
There are 2 double tickets for the Uganda experience (“Prize”) to be given away to 2 winners (1 prize of a double ticket per winner). The prize is for the winner plus 1 friend of the winner’s choice*. The accompanying friend must be 18 years of age or older, and comply with all the competition rules.
Each double ticket prize includes:
· 2 return economy class flights to Uganda - Kampala from OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg and return from Uganda – Kampala to Johannesburg - for winner plus accompanying 1 friend.
o *Winners and friends not living in Johannesburg must make their own travel arrangements to O.R Tambo International - Johannesburg. There will be no compensation for any transport or other costs, or accommodation.
· 1 nights’ accommodation at a 3 star hotel in Kampala Uganda, of Promoter’s choice.
· A brewery Tour at Nile Breweries in Kampala or Jinja.
· Tickets and accommodation for two nights at the Nyenge Nyenge Festival, of Promoter’s choice.
o *Note this is camping accommodation and a backpack with a sleeping bag will be provided.
· A ferry to the Sesse Islands on Lake Victoria in Uganda
· Two nights’ accommodation at the Sesse Island Beach resort
· Transfers and meals included, of Promoter’s choice as stated in the itinerary.
PRIZES WILL ONLY BE AWARDED AFTER SUCCESSFUL VERIFICATION OF WINNERS AND TRAVEL PARTNERS. FAILING SUCCESSFUL VERIFICATION OF ANY WINNER A SUBSTITUTE WINNER, MAY AT THE DISCTRETION OF THE PROMOTER, BE SELECTED. WINNER VERIFICATION WILL ONLY BE CONDUCTED AFTER WINNER NOTIFICATION THEREFORE WINNER NOTIFICATION IS NOT A CONFIRMATION OF WINNING.
8. Draw: The draw will be conducted on or before 28 August 2017. The draw will consist of all valid entries received during the Competition Period. Winners will be selected using a random, blind draw process.
9. Winner Notification: Winners will be contacted on the written number from the entry card that was received within 2 days of the draw date. If the Promoter is unable to contact the selected winner/s after three telephonic attempts within the 2 day period, the winner will be disqualified, and a substitute winner, may at the discretion of the Promoter be selected, using the same random draw process.
10. The winner must communicate his/her travel partner’s details, to Promoter/Promoter’s Agent, within 2 days of his/her acceptance of the Prize failing which the winner will travel and participate in the Prize on his/her own. No changes of accompanying friend will be accepted after the stipulated 2 days. There will be no compensation, of any kind, to the winner or travel partner, in the event that he/she does not travel with his/her accompanying friend or does not travel at all. At the time of communicating the friend’s details, the winner will also be required to provide certified copies of the winner’s and accompanying travel partner’s valid South African ID document/card and Passport. In the event that a visa is required for Uganda, then the winners and travel partners will be required to obtain same within sufficient time to travel, failing which the prize will be forfiete in full, without any compensation payable to the winner/travel partner TBC.
11. Prize redemption will be finalized with each winner on making contact with the winner post winner verification.
12. No person may win more than one Prize in this Competition. For these purposes an accompanying friend is also considered a “winner”.
13. In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Promoter’s is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. In the event that a winner, for whatsoever reason, is unable to travel on the stated date or unable to utilise the prize, the winner and travel partner will forfeit the entire prize. There will be no compensation, in any form, (including, but not limited to monetary compensation and/or rescheduling) to any party, irrespective of the reason/s for inability of the winner to travel on the date as per the itinerary/provided by the Promoters/Promoters Agent.
15. A winner may not substitute him/herself. Time permitting, a substitute winner, may at the discretion of the Promoters, be chosen.
16. A winner may, however, travel in the absence of his/her travel partner/s. There will be no compensation, in any form, (including, but not limited to monetary compensation and/or rescheduling) to any party (winner or travel partner/s) should travel partner/s be unable to travel or participate in the prize, for whatsoever reason.
17. Timelines stated by the promoter/Promoter’s Agent must be adhered to. Failing adherence to any timeline, at any stage, will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the Prize in its entirety with no compensation to any party.
18. Winners and travel partners will be required to sign Promoter’s Prize Acceptance/ Surrender and Indemnity.
19. In the event that any winner does not sign any of the documents and/or indemnities, the accompanying friend will not be able to attend (without the winner) and no party (winner and friend/s) will be compensated in any way, in this instance. The prize will therefore be forfeited in its entirety.
20. In the event that an accompanying friend does not sign any of the documents and/or indemnities, the accompanying friend will not be able to attend and no party (winner and friend) will be compensated in any way, in this instance.
21. The Promoters shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
22. The Promoters shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotional competition that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
23. The Promoters reserve the right to disqualify any winner if fraud or cheating is suspected due to any reason whatsoever.
24. No applications from agents, third parties, organized groups or applications automatically generated by computer will be accepted. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. Entries will only be accepted if they comply with all entry instructions.
25. The Prize/s cannot be transferred, exchanged for an alternate prize or for its cash value.
26. The Promoter may use personal information, supplied voluntarily by you, for marketing purposes for their other products and campaigns. Participants can choose to Opt-out of receiving communication from SAB World of Beer or other/all SAB Brands, at any time, by responding to Promoter on the communication received.
27. The Promoter will not share any of your personal information with any third party except where such disclosure is necessary to enable The Promoter to provide, deliver or in any other way give effect to these Rules and/or the Prize/s, where such disclosure is required by law or where consent to Promoter sharing your personal information is obtained from Participant/s.
28. Promoter reserves the right to carry out audits in respect of any winner/s and/or accompanying friend/s to verify their eligibility and/or the validity of the entry.
29. In the event that the prize is not available despite the Promoters’ reasonable endeavours to procure the prize, the Promoters reserve the right in their sole discretion, to substitute the prizes with an alternative that the Promoter deems appropriate. However, there is no obligation on the Promoters to replace the prizes.
30. Promoters may make media announcements / publications of the names / photographs of participant/s, provided that any participant /s may expressly elect to decline this. Promoters reserve the right to carry out audits in respect of any participant/s to verify their eligibility.
31. The Promoters reserve the right to use the images taken of the winner/s and/or accompanying friend/s for publicity purposes in any media, without remuneration being made payable to the winners and/or accompanying friend/s. However, winners and/or accompanying friends have the right to object to these images being used by written notification to the Promoter/s.
32. All participants indemnify Promoters, their respective associated companies (directors, officers and employees) and agents, against any / all claims for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever connected to or arising out of their participation in any way in this promotional competition.
